Euclid Chamber job fair set for Sept. 18: What job seekers should know

Euclid residents looking for work will have a two-hour opportunity close to home Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, when the Euclid Chamber of Commerce holds a job fair at Euclid Public Library.

The fair runs from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Main Library’s Lake/Shore room, 631 E. 222nd St.

Ten organizations are named for the fair on the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities event listing: Fredrick Douglass High School, Euclid High School, OhioMeansJobs, Cuyahoga Community College, Catholic Charities, HELP Foundation, New Vision Health and Wellness, Third Federal, Northwestern Mutual and the Euclid Fire Department.

For the eight organizations other than HELP and the Fire Department, positions, pay, hiring plans and their expected roles at the fair had not been provided. Separate career postings identify a HELP direct-support job and a City of Euclid lateral-entry Firefighter/Paramedic opening, but neither posting confirms that the position will be recruited for or filled at the library event.

HELP’s weekend opening

HELP Foundation is advertising a part-time weekend Direct Support Professional position starting at $16.50 an hour. Pay can reach $18.50 based on certifications.

The schedule is every other Saturday and every other Sunday. Example assignments total either 35.5 or 48 hours every two weeks, making this weekend work rather than a standard 40-hour week.

Applicants generally must be at least 18 and have a high school diploma or GED, or agree to complete a GED within two years. They also must pass a criminal background check.

Most HELP direct-support jobs require a valid Ohio driver’s license held for at least three years, with no more than four points. Caregiving experience is preferred.

On its broader employment offerings page, HELP advertises fixed schedules, paid holidays, paid time off, annual merit increases, medical, dental, vision and disability insurance, life and accident insurance, a 401(k) employer match and on-demand pay. Those are organization-wide offerings, not position-specific terms for the weekend opening. The weekend posting also advertises a $200 referral bonus after 90 days of service.

A related city fire opening

Separately, the City of Euclid is accepting applications and resumes for a lateral-entry Firefighter/Paramedic opening aimed at experienced candidates.

Applicants need Ohio Firefighter II and Ohio EMT-Paramedic certifications, applicable continuing education and prior firefighting experience.

They must have either one year of full-time career Firefighter/Paramedic service with one agency or two years of part-time service at 1,040 hours per year. Candidates no longer working as Firefighter/Paramedics cannot have been out of service for more than one year.

Euclid code requires Fire Department appointees to be U.S. citizens, at least 21 by their appointment date and no older than 70 at appointment. A medical examination is required within 120 days before appointment.

The city lists paid sick time, vacation, holidays and personal days; health, dental and vision insurance; OPERS/OP&F retirement savings matching; student-loan-forgiveness eligibility; employer-paid life insurance; and optional disability, additional life insurance, 457 and flexible-spending benefits.

Before the fair

The county event page includes an “APPLY FOR THIS JOB ONLINE” link for people seeking to register or apply.

For residents weighing work against transportation, childcare or another job, Friday’s practical test will be whether the organizations can turn a list of names into specific openings with pay, schedules, benefits and a clear next step.
